I have started to work on obtaining my LPIC-1: System’s Administrator certification from the Linux Professional Institute. As I have gone along, I’ve been making some notes on key concepts and things that I find are useful. The main resource I am using most is the LPIC-1: Linux Professional Institute Certification Study Guide, Fourth Edition by Christine Bresnahan and Richard Blum. You can order it from Amazon Canada or Amazon USA using the corresponding Amazon Associates link below.

While making notes for myself is great, they aren’t indexed in any searchable manner – unless you consider flipping through a notepad searchable – and they don’t really benefit others. The idea behind the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) community, of which Linux is a product, is centered on sharing and community contribution. In the spirit of FOSS and of the latin proverb, docendo discimus – by teaching, we learn, I will be making posts about concepts I find interesting or worthwhile exploring further. While I haven’t yet decided on a format or topics of choice, I will likely be making quite a few posts as go along and playing it by ear.

If you find this site a useful resource in your studies or want to ask a question, please feel free to leave it in the comments! I will try my best to answer (and research) your questions when I get a chance.
